Harmony Theater is a nonprofit community-based organization that serves the needs of adults with disabilities and their families. We provide opportunities for approximately 55 adults with developmental disabilities to participate in performing arts activities for self-expression and social interaction. The theater produces two yearly events including a Fall Concert that features the vocal talents of our participants and a Spring Musical that combines the actors’ acting, vocal, and dancing abilities. Through activities, events, and weekly Saturday rehearsals at Church of the Messiah, Lower Gwynedd, Harmony Theater participants enjoy a safe, nurturing, creative environment where they can build friendships, transition into adult social life, and develop life skills in the ‘Harmony Theater Family’.

The Board consists of 16 active members, and meets monthly, ten to eleven times per year, at the Lansdale Library. The focus is on delivering against the performance measures documented in the 2017 Strategic Plan, and the challenges of developing the organization.

In order to assist with the growth and development of the organization, Harmony Theater Board Members are expected to: - share their knowledge and expertise - attend all board meetings, and prepare and present status reports on their assigned duties

- attend the Open House, Fall Concert, and Spring Musical

- attend or contribute to the success of the organization’s fundraisers

- serve on at least one committee - serve a minimum term of two years.
