COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

THE HARMONY PROGRAM

Harmony Theater is a creative performance environment for people with disabilities that live in the 5-county southeastern region of PA.  Harmony participants experience creative stimulation, encouragement to imagine, and education in theater arts.

In an environment of respect and support, they build friendships, engage
in healthy activities, develop life skills, experience successes, and simply
have fun!

This unique theater program produces two yearly events including a fall concert and a spring musical.  â€‹Harmony's weekly program promotes positive physical, emotional, behavioral, and intellectual well being for all participants, including our staff and theater assistants!

Harmony Holds Annual Fall Concerts & Spring Musicals

Our Harmony family attends games together to cheer on the local teams!

Harmony Theater actors work through the fall semester learning a program of concert music and choreography to perform at our fall concert.  This 2-day event is typically held in November and is the culmination of three months of rehearsal and learning.  This time is used to prepare for the concert, but also to build relationships, learn technique, and assess our company to begin considering roles for the musical.

The spring musical is typically held in May and is the culmination of 5 months of preparation in staging, singing, dance, and acting.  Our participants are cast in a variety of roles to showcase their talents!  Our goal as a staff is that everyone feels like a star when they step on stage!  The 3 day event includes all the excitement of Broadway with costumes, props, makeup & hair, and sell out audiences!

THEATER STAFF

Our directing staff and theater assistants are compassionate, energetic,
dedicated professionals,
community members, and students representing the
arts, human services, education, pharmaceutical,
and audio visual fields.

 Directors

Harmony Theater is the creative home to theater majors, teachers, and professionals who dedicate their Saturday mornings to encouraging and inspiring the actors in a variety of ways.  Employing multiple modalities for learning, encouraging safe exploration, and stimulating creativity helps our family to grow in theater and in life!

Theater Assistants (TAs)

The TA Crew is an exceptional group of people who come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.  From Middle School students interested in theater to university professors and everyone in between.  These awesome people support our actors in daily activities and help create the magic on stage.
They ensure everyone feels like a star!
